Legends: Based on the Perspective of African Friends

Legends are as difficult as waiting for the results of DNA Testing but sometimes easy to believe especially as kids. For many kids who grew up in some parts of Africa, they had a unique legend about the city of London as shared by the numerous African course mates I have. The one that struck me the most is the one about the gold plated streets of the ancient city. You really don’t have to go back to read that again, I meant what I wrote and it is from the perspective of ‘eyewitnesses’. It is very funny to them now as well but those who heard it then believed it with all their hearts that the streets of London is in gold and people and cars move on gold.
A friend remarked that the idea of London he had made the city synonymous to heaven. The other one that I really liked involved London as well but this time with the United States of America. Legend also had it that all houses in America and London (not UK) have taps that are connected to a source that provides milk, Pepsi and coca cola. These very important drinks are believed to exist in every house in the locations stated above. Explaining this; a friends said he thought every house had four running taps. One is of course for water while the others have milk, Pepsi and Coca Cola running out of them. Learning this was so much fun just like it was even more fun for the pals that shared it.
